Short Film Pitch: ROCKET (dir. Mohit Arrora)

A32f60da5c posterOne day, a tiny boy gets an obsession of space, of zero gravity in his head – life is so nice up above there, floating freely, falling freely – a state of freedom from fear, tension and sorrow that usually life on earth is constituted of.

“Rocket”, the 10mins long short film is about how a 10 yr old boy Satwik deals with a family problem of his father’s failure in paying back a hand loan which poses to disturb the happiness of family.

With an web of problems in head, the boy finds a way out of them in his head too.

Mohit Arrora is an Indian film director, actor, screenwriter and poet. His work has won more than 15 awards and nomination in national and international film festivals. He has been continuously active in theatre since 2011. He has directed and acted in more then 30 stage shows, street plays as well as mimes all over India. His basic career was built in Delhi ( capital city of India) and Jalandhar.He’s also pursuing last year of his post graduation in film direction from Asian School of Media and Studies Noida, India.
About his work—
His first directed short film ‘Hindustant’ got ‘Best Short Film Award’ in Jaipur International Award 2017. ‘Hindustan’ was basically a poem which he wrote during his graduation years. The poster of the film was launched by President of ICMEI (International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry) Mr. Sandeep Marwah and Grandson of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Mr. Yadvinder Singh in Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.
His short film ‘Chitthi’ brought him many awards, nominations and acclaim from international and national film festivals. The story was about a lady who’s continuously is in wait for a letter. Film won back to back 6 awards including ‘Best Director Award’ in Udaan Film Festival 2017 which was held in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Film also won ‘Best Film Award’ in International Film Festival of Prayag. Film got official selection in Pgdiriwang ng Alon ng Pelikula Manila, Philippines and in Miami Epic Film Festival Florida, USA also.
Mohit’s other film ‘5 Questions’ won Best Film Award in Delhi International Queer Theater and Film Festival 2017.
He recently has completed film ‘Rocket’. After the film Mohit has visited the most naxal affected areas like Abujmarh, Dantewada and Bastar of Chhattisgarh state to make a documentary on Naxalisum. His team prepared a report on naxalisum which was submitted to Mr. Rajnath Singh, The Home Minister of India.
