What is your story about?

Turn the Tables by Herschel Medlin and Dale Baker. 1991: High school mobile DJ’s Travis and Carl set their sights on the DJ World Championship, while heartache, complicated home lives, and a rival DJ crew are all hell-bent on their destruction.

Why should people know this story?

This story can relate to everyone. It is about friendship, heartache, and overcoming obstacles while trying to find your way in the world. It is also fun and a different kind of story that can be thought of a musical using the era’s greatest dance hits.

This story has a lot going for it. How would you describe this story in two words?

Generation X.

What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Aliens (1986).

How long have you been working on this story?

Off and on for a couple of years.

How many stories have you written?

At least six.

What motivated you to write this story?

The co-author Dale Baker and I ran a mobile DJ business in high school and we used many real life events from that time to tell our story.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Camping, guns, and spending time with family.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Keep writing. Listen to all the feedback you receive and at some point, you will have a story that you will be proud of.
