Oscar, a former champion of the underground martial arts circuit, must step back into the ring, against all the odds, in order to save his dying mother, while risking his in the process.
Afonso J Henrique was born in Faro, Portugal and moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of four. After spending his childhood in the Tri-State area, he joined the US Navy and honorably served our beautiful country for 12 years. After his time in service, Afonso decided to go back to school to follow his true calling in life – Film. He has his A.A. in Writing and Literature from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and is completing his B.A. in Screenwriting and Film at Brooklyn College.
Afonso was selected as a Screenwriter Fellow with Time Warner (2016) and has also completed his Screenwriters Certification with Industrial Scripts. He is also a member of the International Screenwriters Association (ISA) and the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP).
In 2017, Afonso was selected as a juror for the New York International Screenplay Association (NYISA) and also played an important role as a Supplemental Instructor for a Screenwriting Class at BMCC.
