Lawrence Daly, also known by his drag name Evangeline, has a B.A. in Psychology from Marquette University, where he also studied writing and theater. In 2015, he published his first novel, SPA DAYZ, touted as THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA meets WILL AND GRACE in the luxury spa world. In addition to being a writer, he has been tearing up the stage for over 20 years impersonating the likes of Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani and Britney Spears. As Evangeline, he has appeared all over the U.S. at bars, nightclubs or private parties in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Provincetown, Boston, New Haven and the thriving metropolis of New London, New Hampshire. Daly has modeled in Paris, made out in London and danced next to Madonna on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House at the MTV Video Music Awards. He has graced the pages of Popeye, Next and HX magazines. During his semi-supermodel days, he worked the runway for fashion designers Garo Sparo (from PROJECT RUNWAY and the Sundance Channel series UNLEASHED BY GARO) and Randy Fenoli (from TLC’s, SAY YES TO THE DRESS). Some career lowlights include appearing on THE RICKY LAKE SHOW, working as an extra for the movie, SEX AND THE CITY: 2 and twerking on Christina Milian’s reality comeback show. Daly also enjoyed a short career in the luxury spa industry, most notably at the Mandarin Oriental New York, as part of the management team when the spa was awarded a (Mobil) Five Star rating. Recently, he has written press releases for the Lips Restaurant Group and penned songs for Recording Artist Development (RAD).
My goal as a writer is not only to normalize LGBTQ people, but to glamorize us as well—so the world can see how extraordinary we are.
