A critical point of view of a story about a wooden mankin that represents the masses of individuals in our days, who live according to the motto “Use-Consume-throw away”In a time where humanistic values are exposed to erosion, where objects and items dominate our consume society the human being becomes a ware too. The masses of individuals who live according the motto “Use-Consume-throw away” represented by the wooden mankin, live a life, that only makes sense when consuming because every day is a repeat of the day before. The film “Barcode” wants to show how the mankin becomes a slave of the system believing that consuming and freedom are equivalent and how he turns into the piece of waste that is the only product of a consume society.
Hüseyin URÇUK was born in Manisa, Akhisar in 1983. Throughout university, he directed and acted in theater performances and participated in poetry nights.
In 2012 he began experimenting with cinema and photography.
He lives in Fethiye, Muğla where he continues to produce innovative performance art.
